Wednesday December 31st
New Year’s Eve Celebration at Dan’s Hall

There will be music, dancing, a social break for eating, drinking, and making merry, with a bit of time reserved after eating for “other” activities. If there’s something you would like to share — for example, a song, a poem, a joke, a reading, or a game —please let us know as soon as possible and we’ll try to include it in the program.

When — Wednesday, December 31. We’ll start promptly at 8:00pm (with special guests arriving at 8:30).

Where — Dan’s Hall (remember, parking is limited, reserved for musicians at the top of the driveway, others on Roy Road; you may need to light your way up).

What to bring — A plate of goodies to share. We’ll provide: napkins, small plates, paper cups, and ginger ale. You can also bring other drinks to share (but, as you know, it’s an alcohol-free event).

2026 dates

Join us in 2026 for our SILVER ANNIVERSARY events - 25 years as The Dancehall Players.

Our plans include a new album, some concerts, and an all day gathering at Dan’s Hall. Come and play along, dance, eat, enjoy!!  Details to come in the spring.

Aug 7 2022 - the Dancehall Players and a group of Victoria English Country Dancers took the ferry to Mayne Island to spend the afternoon dancing, visiting and laughing with our Mayne Island friends. We recorded this Duke of Kent dance for our dear friend Carol Smithe who passed away recently.

Keith Malcolm and Ann Schau of The Dancehall Players play at Craigdarroch Castle in December 2010. This was the first time that we played this lovely tune, For Musical Friends, written by fellow band member, Karen McIvor. We recorded it in 2016 for our third album, Fresh From Dan's Hall - original tunes by The Dancehall Players.

Enjoy a video of new ECD choreography by Renée Camus, danced to Red-Tailed Hawk by Lael Whitehead from the Dancehall Players’ 2020 album Out Of The Silence.

”I wrote it on May 14, 2021, and finalized it on July 2, 2021. I intentionally wanted to write an easy dance, which is something I've had trouble doing so far. So far people seem to like it. :)” -Renée

This was recorded in Skandia Hall in Pasadena, CA on June 16, 2021 at the "Dance Kitchen", a special opportunity for callers to try out new choreographies.

Filmed live at Christ Church Cathedral. The Dancehall Players (Ann, Barrie, Gregory and Lael, with guest Brenda Callan on violin) were invited to participate in a day-long festival of music at Christ church Cathedral in Victoria BC November 20, 2021.
